Somebody will have to explain to me how these rankings work.

Personally I would imagine that the #2 offense and #2 defense with the exact same SoS value would be ranked higher then the #10 offense and #1 defense would be.

Or even crazier is how the #16 off and #16 def is better then the #6 off and #6 def??????? Stoooooooopid

Call me crazy but if I had to place a bet, I'd have SAS beating Rage right now.

So how about making a predictions thread for the next series of matchups (excluding cpu matchups cause we all know a human team will crush them every time )

Oh and 1 more thing, whomever placed Montgomery Manglers at #11 is on drugs. They are the championship contenders this season. Keep a close eye on them and watch as they shoot up the rankings.

Rankings get better deeper into the season...

Thanks for running the script--fun to watch.

I'll be dropping the preseason games after the next series of games, so the rankings will probably shake up a little.

Having just been stomped by Ohio Rage, I think they're pretty good. But I agree with you about the senselessness of some of the numbers in the ranking calculator. If we get knocked out of a couple of tournaments, I'll probably have time to mess with changing the script to something I at least comprehend.

Does the script use the O and D rankings and the SOS to get the final ranking...or are O and D rankings calculated separately? It's possible that this might all make sense if you saw the raw numbers instead of just the order. maybe our stats on D are good enough to make up for the difference in O. especially if the top 10 or so teams have similar numbers on O...which i guess is sort of true. i'm not sure about that, though, SA's D is usually very very close to ours in stats.

then again, maybe it's just that victory against Gong's Racoons, hehe. Just kidding, Gong...you're doing great with the rankings.

last season a bunch of people were bitching about the rankings, and Dreven finally got pissed and stopped posting them. i think it's a lot more fun, even if the rankings don't mean much.

if i see anybody bitching...then i'm actually gonna game plan against you! hahah...that might not be much of a threat, actually...

Oops...there were a couple of errors in the way I was using the script. As it turns out, you have to make modifications to the script every season to keep up. The fourth pre-season game was counting as a regular season game, among other things.

I also added a win-loss column to the display. Right now it's showing the preseason games (because they're still being counted), but next week the numbers will go down. I didn't bother to do ties, you can figure it out if they don't have as many games as the rest.

Anyway, here are the revised rankings. You'll be happy to note that SAS has moved above Ohio:

Wow, you putting in that W/L column killed us. We drew a bunch of tough teams in the preseason, before I enabled the AI and that KILLED us.

Not to worry, I'll be dropping the preseason after the next game. Specifically for that reason, preseason games are handled differently by many coordinators.

also there are some games coming up that will separate the men from the boys.... so thats us heading down your chart

Yeah, Big, i agree. this has been one of the better leagues for a while, IMO, but you wouldn't know it by reading any of the other league forums...especially the gold forums. I posted on that in the gold league once, right after you guys made it into gold. The dumbshits on there were acting like it was some kind of accident that you got in over SAS and ETMR (which is bullshit...you got in fair and square by good builds and game planning)...I told them to click around our league for a minute and you'll see that there's a ton of good teams...as usual, whenever you put something that's well thought-out in those forums, people ignore it and go on to some other idiotic topic...

Maybe we should re-brand ourselves? haha... how bout the platinum league? we'll just say bort confused the shiny luster with that of silver, and we got put here on accident?

when we were in gold... damn that seems a million year ago now(thank god) i used to read all the shite spouted in the gold forum and cringe. dont let anyone fool you about peewee gold. those original teams, the majority of them bought success. they dont have better gameplans, just more of them with CE and boosters. ok, some have been around a while with mature AIs. if you are not part of that clique of established peewee teams, then i wouldnt bother writing in the forum unless you have thick skin. i did kickoff one time over some comments from some patronising bastard, but other than that i just wasnt that interested in the crap they came out with.

this league was and still is the best peewee league bar none. if the same teams that move up come back to this league, it will continue to be fun with the dozen or so evenly matched teams fighting each season to move up to face the flex pit of gold.

rebranding...hmmm. we should break away from the copper silver and gold completely

thanks btw for the kind words about getting in on merit. luck played a huge part of that merit, as did being underestimated.... which i dont think will happen twice. damn
