Haha, we are slowbuilding still and we're beating teams who aren't slowbuilding. We might actually not even need to boost to win the championship.

I love how the FS chases my QB down, misses the tackle and falls down. Then he chases him down and misses the tackle again.

What the heck does that have anything to do with anything. All teams are level ones so who cares.

We are basically level 1 while you guys are level 4 minus the auto-gains per level. We have used 15 less skill points per player = 3 levels.

You are wrong, because besides a couple on my team we are doing the same thing. I hope we play you. I love it when people talk trash on a sim game. It is great!

Who spends skill points at level 1? People who are trying to win a Pee Wee title and then retire, maybe.

or people like me who just started and don't know any better.

It's rough getting started. GLB mechanics are such that it is significantly more valuable to hold your skill points and train attributes up, rather than spending them right away. Of course, spending them produces immediate performance impact in the short term. However, unless you're planning on retiring your guys early, they're going to have a 12 or 13 season career. If they're only great in the first season or two, that's not terribly fun.

Well I guess I'll have fun this season, retire and start over. Might as well boost then huh?

Certainly if the plan is only to use them for two seasons or less, early boosting would make more sense than late boosting. Note you only get back 70% of flex from boosts when you retire, though.

To be clear, a decent player builder can override the disadvantage of not slow building the first season, so only go that retirement route if you want. It's pretty hard to seriously mess up a level 1. Maybe if you focused on kicking or punting or something when you weren't a kicker or punter.

Have you seen some of the builds out there? What might be difficult for you is second nature to a lot of people.

I mean long term mess it up. Of course, continuing bad decisions throughout your career can very easily produce horrible results ... if you figure it out before hitting level 2, though it's usually just a speed bump.

Can you put all your free points into SAs? Sure. Will you hurt for a while? Sure. Eventually though, if someone clues you in early enough, you'll reach a point at which those SAs are actually firing and doing you some good. Not as much good as they'd do if you waited until after level 30 to buy them, but still useful skill points.
