I have been noticing in this game that the FB swing pass tends to end in a loss of yardage. This is just my experience with my own player and watching the same from some of my competetion. My old team had a pretty solid o-line but the LB's always got through the outside and tagged both the FB and HB in that situation.

Has anyone actually had any success running those plays and is there a certain stat that might help in this instance? I'm curious as to what some of you may have noticed.

I have never seen the swing pass to a FB work.
I asked the GLB Gods to banish it or change it.
Why throw a pass to a flat-footed standing-still FB standing right next to the OT/DE scrum, when 1-2 seconds later he would be WIDE-OPEN?

About 50% of the time it works for the HB, but the other 50% of the time he loses the yardage gain on the others. Net gain of ZERO usually.

Funny, I asked GLB to get rid of the FB dump pass. My guy has only caught that pass and he always ends up on top of the RDE and gets tackled for a loss every time.

My FB is not involved in the passing game on my team so he hasn't caught the swing pass yet. I wish he would because I think he would make mince meat out of the smaller secondary players.

I have a feeling that maybe these plays get better as the players do, but maybe not. I guess we'll see.

We tried to get our FB involved in the Passing game but, found that dump pass to be a liability. So.. our FB is on longer getting passing looks from the FB position.

If the QB throws the pass late so that the FB is wide out already, a relatively speedy FB could really cause some damage. That was the case in the only game I've had decent success with it (15 yards from 2 attempts). Mine has 60 strength and a couple of points in power thru; it'll be hard for a CB or pass-oriented S to bring him down. Other rush-oriented FBs have far better stats than that; would be interested in hearing from them.

That being said, that's only the theory behind it. The reality is that most end up with lost yardage.

My longest reception as a FB was -1 yards and all of the catches I had were swing passes.

I have had a catch for about 6 yards as my longest I think. I am not a big fan of fullbacks being involved in passing but it works sometimes.

I have my FB pass set to 0% and this play showed up my last game. My FB watched the ball sail by and into the hands of a LB who was like 5 yards away who then proceeded to take the ball 20 yards the other way.

I was pissed that the FB was being thrown to. Especially with the top WR in the slot wide open in the middle of the field.

WAHOO! I think this is my first positive yardage FB reception!

Bobby is a beast BTW. Already has 3TD's on the season, average 4.7 YPC, has 5 Pancakes too.
