Gotham (AP) -- With several high-profile signings this offseason, everyone with interest in this team will be disappointed of the Punishers miss the playoffs.

After adding three solid playmakers this year- Harley Petit, James Laurinitis22, and Brad Solmes, the Gotham City Punishers appear primed to take the league by surprise, and are a sleeper team in eyes of many analysts. The Punishers passing game is poised to carry the offense. Last year's breakout player, Dan Miller, has taken his time in getting to know his quarterback Rico Dynamite, and just today held a barbecue in his backyard for his fellow receivers, and their quarterbacks. "It's a great way to get to know the guys. I want to know these guys intimately when I'm on the field." Also present at the barbecue was Harley Petit, a productive Tight End who has bounced around from several teams in the last couple seasons. "I haven't had great luck in the past with my coaches, but I hope I have a home here in Gotham."

James Laurinitis22 is another cog added to the Gotham engine. Laurinitis22, who amassed over 100 tackles last year, had a collection of gameplay video sent to his home in Gotham City, and has laboriously studied the offensive schemes of the USA BBB#6 West immediately after settling into his new home. "I've already got the physical skill and talent, now I need to know what I'm up against."

The last, but possibly the most important addition is Brad Solmes, a member of the 100 pancake club of the USA Pro League. Solmes was an immediate starter for the Kentucky Wildcats of the USA Pro when he was a rookie, and dramatically improved his play in season 2. It is expected that with Solmes at Left Tackle, Rico Dynamite will never have to worry about an attack to his blind side. "I would only feel more secure if Batman were in the stands, really" Dynamite said in a locker room interview after a late summer Quarterback camp.

The most modest member of the Gotham team is the head coach, David Sack. "I expect great things from these guys, and although I love the W's, I can walk away satisfied if my team put forth a great effort."
