Anyone have an opinion on losing the day 31's?

I am concerned that teams will boost early and stomp everyone who doesnt, Day 31's were the only counter for that. It also will hurt teams moving on after pee-wee now that you will be in a cap 14 at lvl 10-11 facing potentially lvl 17 players. i don't get what day 31's hurt anyway.

I posted this in the other thread

Ok i am shocked because i have always in my head thought what a great business idea this whole day 31 thing is. I love that i dont have to buy as much flex but cant believe bort is just gonna let all that go. What i think is going to happen probably after he figures out a new non roll system we will only get 70% of the player retirement. thats why he cant do that right now cause when you make players an hit ok and its not the way you want it then you have to retire him. This is why i didnt want this to happen. If he keeps you getting 100% back from player retirement then im cool with this but if not we screwed ourself

Also i took off worrk Thursday i even used a Vaca day dammit

Also something i dint write there was i like day31 in general i mean i got my i pod rocking and just had fun rolling players all day. There is nothing like that sound my laptop makes when a player you have been rolling all day hits his attributes. AN I TOOK OFF WORK SHIT. now im gonna need to take off day 40.

I agree Naimoli.. I'm shocked too. Maybe he will get more boosting out of it, but in the long run I think he loses money.

I do like the advantage of having a day 31 team. Taking time to recruit and organize your team should yield an advantage.

Organized teams with trusted agents will always have an advantage but much smaller now. Since we don't play this game real-time and rely on pre-programmed AI it's possible there will be too much parody in Pee Wee. College style OT needs to come soon.

Even though we had our arguments/disagreements last season, I learned a lot from the Headhunters. You guys set the bar and the noobs like me learned from it.

I'm not opposed to it.. leveling the playing field is fine with me, just surprised as you are.

the way i see it, there are two ways to look at it:
1) This is a terrible thing because it takes away any advantage you get from being organized and taking the time to recruit day 31ers and starting out the season with a better team than those that dont take the time.
2) this is a good thing because it levels out the playing field so that all the teams are even unless they boost. it gives new team owners that recieved their teams on day 40/41 a chance to compete their 1st season.

Personally i tend to side with #1. you should have an advantage if you take the time to recruit and do all the work neccessary. Also it takes away from dedicated owners that have built up good teams over a number of seasons. now, a brand new team can just find a bunch of guys who will boost (or make them themself) when neccessary and win an entire league the first year.

I think he gets his money no matter what. Human nature is to spend as much as you can on the things you like so I expect more boosters, players and CE which of course levels the field even more.

I'd like to see custom offensive plays I think that would give an advantage to the dedicated player over the more casual player. Detailed concept offenses like the wing-t would be difficult for an inexperienced DC to counter.

I also expect him to do something with the coaching positions soon which will expand the roster and increase his potential revenue per team even more.

Well because of this, i think this next season will be the last for the cobras. pee-wee was great in seasons 9-10 now has gone way downhill

You're quitting basically because he evened the playing field? Sounds pretty sad. I can see the organized part to get the people together, but its mostly about who can buy the most flex. Players builds are still going to be key, you just don't have an advantage as far as free xp/level.

I really don't mind it. On one hand, I've enjoyed having an advantage the past couple years. But to be completely honest, it didn't really make a whole lot of difference. If nobody was build on day 31 I still think that Crib, GLB, and FT are the top 3 teams on our side. Nahkoda would likely be a little more competitive (they're making a LOT out of a little with their small roster), but that's about it.

I think it's good to help out the new owners. Currently, you're basically throwing away a season if you're new to PeeWee (only the more experienced knew you needed to have a roster lined up with day31 builds...that was not the majority of new owners).

I, personally, would rather go 9-7 with 14-15 competitive games than go 14-2 and only have to pay attention to 4 games and only 2 of those are competitive.

We are not going to field a pw team next season so we can focus more on our main teams. not spend 600 flex per player

Which is something most of us on the stumps really aren't up to doing. If the Cobras go down, I'd still be around this place in some vehicle, but as a nonbooster, the updates kind of put you in a bind.

Are you retarded torgo? They actually support the same idea. By making it day 40 it both evens the playing field and makes it not an issue of who can by the most flex to create on D31. Sit down, think about it for a minute, advil for headaches, midol for cramps..

That may true, but it's not how you previously argued in favor of it.

Also, you just got mad on the internet. How does it feel?
