What do I need to do? Was it stupid that I boosted? I also have a WR lvl 4 as well how can I get him on this team as well?

Lvl 4 can't make the team, must be level 1 to sign.
Boosting is a personal preference. Typically guys boost at the end of the season or beginning of playoffs after XP stops. So you can get more daily XP at a lower level then a higher level and your guy gets better faster. Because you boosted early he will probably end the season around level 11 whereas the rest of us will end the season at 13 or 14 depending when they were built day 31 +.
