yes, and no. Weren't the rampage like 8-8 for their first two seasons? not that really matters but I mean they have had 2 good seasons and all of a sudden they are a top 10? not in my eyes. Longevity plays a big part in my mind...

I don't want to throw any hate your way Celtic and I absolutely love The Flames, but the flames had little to no playoff success until the top 3 team were promoted to the world league.


Let get some facts out there about our top teams. only 2 teams have won the league more than once. 5 teams have actually been there multiple times.

ESL: 18-5 (3-1)
BLPP: 14-6 (1-1)
Bangkok Seamen: 12-3 *(2-1)
NACJAC: 8-2 (1-1)
HCMHM: 13-4 (1-1)
LSP: 9-5 (0-1)
Marauders: 9-7 (1-0)
Flames: 5-2 * (1-0)

I know you like me gbb, no offense taken. We beat ESL who basically whooped this whole leagues ass for years. Then we make the playoffs in the World League, I can't fathom how that doesn't validate us as a great team. The 3 "top teams" that got promoted were the Warlords, TKW, and the Marauders. At the time if the promotion, Marauders were better than us. TKW we lost to by like 3 pts that season, and I'm pretty sure Manila never beat the Flames. If they had I know we had a winning record vs them.

The Flames did upset a 2 seed as a 7 seed then got crushed by LSP. We shit the bed vs Komodo in a game we honestly should have won imo. So were we dominant year in, year out up here? No we weren't. Are we one of the best teams in all of GLB right now? You are damn fucking right we are. We are a playoff team in the WPL with a shot at the 5 seed and a win over the Shockers. A lot of the teams that were ahead of us in season 7 couldn't hold our jocks now, plain and simple.

As far as Buffalo, if they win a title they are top 10 imo. They would be one of the teams here that won a Wok. There aren't 10 other teams that have done that yet, so that at least puts them in the conversation.

I would say the Marauders are better than the Flames to date. 1 title, WPL playoff team, more longevity as a top team in the Pros.

i have no doubt in my mind that the flames are one of the best in all of GLB. and i don't see you guys packing up and leaving but to be a top team for 3 seasons isn't quite the same as being a top team for 6 or 7 seasons. IMO NACJAC is too high. they came and left once their super DEs were nerfed. look at a team like ESL and the reason they are so highly regarded.... they have done it all. they weathered every nerf and sim change Bort has thrown at us and maintained a high level of play. they are taking their lumps now as they go through a roster adjustment with their farm team but ESL in their prime was no doubt a top 25 GLB team.


All i'm asking for is a bit of longevity. maybe 4 seasons of of being an elite team. I mean BLPP made it to 4 straight naga conference championship games and thats just a fraction of their history, can i see some consistency and resilience

Yeah, we (Warlords) have never beaten you guys. We just had one good season, tbh, so I wouldn't call us a top 3 team. Btw, I think he was referring to LSP and not the Marauders when he said top 3 teams.

But yeah, as the seasons progress and some of the teams stick around and get better, they deserve to move up the rankings. This should be revisited every so often. Perhaps we should have a committee to decide this? Perhaps the HoF committee could discuss it?

doing it season to season seems like too much work, we should revisit it after like maybe 2 or 3 seasons

Ya, I think the HoF committee could come up with some good criteria. There are less than 10 different Super Wok winners, so maybe all of them should be in?

Every Wok winner has to be in the top 10 I would say. You win a title, that is the ultimate goal of every franchise and it validates your greatness. Also, success in the WPL should count for something. TKW being dominant in the WPL should factor in.

Wow! I haven't been in these forums for a while now. Since LSP will be coming home next season I decided to peek in and see what was new. Great job HB. Sorry to see you go.

Key Players - HB - Ricky Watters(http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=27156&playoffs=0) - Watters is the most recognizable member of Bangkok and has come back to his SEA roots this season to finish his fine career
CB - Kelly Bojangles Bojangles(http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=71076&playoffs=0) - This guy was the first true shutdown corner in the region and a menace in the defensive backfield
DE - Darryl Tapp(http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=35169&playoffs=0) - Teaming with fellow DE Patrick Kerney these guys terrorized QBs in SEA like few teams have.
QB - Jim Zorn(http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=26661&playoffs=0) - While Watters was the Superstar, Zorn quietly put together a great career in SEA turning the good Seamen offense into a juggernaught
Biggest Rival - Phuket All, although it was hard to call it a rivalry as Bangkok dominated the series. It was a game that I remember being a big one when I first moved up to the Pro's.


How can this team still be #1 after the team's best players and owner merged with the Adriana Lima Beans of CPL and the hated SI?

Surely that has to be a 10 place demotion in itself, amirite?

Definitely. I think Krungthep's gold should put them in as the current #10 replacing the title-less Blood Pandas.

tough call... but this is all time franchises. i love krungthep, but have they really been a factor in sea pro for more than one season?
