Whatever the hell they served in the bars in Okinawa, that stuff destroyed my liver. And most certainly cost me a few nights of remembering what I did or did not do.

Soju is mostly here in Korea - fresh watermelon is the new one out, tastes like kool-aid, my god you drop quicker than a pre-frosh at a college keg party!

Yeah I had Soju once....a friend who served in Korea had some. I think I crashed my truck that day...

Yes Soju is the devil. I will never drink that stuff again.

And the best Soju story I have isn't even me blacking out for 2 hours - I mean don't even remember how the hell I got back to base.

The best story was Christmas Eve this last year - My wife came to Korea for Christmas and I had just recently had reconstructive knee surgery (ACL) the week before so I was still on crutches and Percoset so I wasn't drinking. We went down to my local and she starts knocking back Cherry Soju's. These are a normal beer mug with 1/2 bottle of Soju, 7up, Plum Juice and literally Cherry Kool-aid. By the end of the night she had 6 total (3 bottles of Soju = 15 bottles of beer), My wife was blasted and staggering home with me in tow on crutches. Needless to say I didn't get to open my Xmas gifts till 8 PM the next day and didn't get Xmas dinner. I think she puked up a lung at one point in her multiple sick moments over the next day. To this day she can't drink cherry anything. Classic!

If you have never tried it - then you must, just so you can say you will never do it again!
