GLB’s Top Pro Teams

Final Season 8 Rankings

Recent results caused a bit of a shake-up in the rankings as many of the previous top teams suffered defeats in the playoffs and in the major tourneys. With so many teams adapting to the current state of the sim as the season wore on, it became tougher and tougher to sift the truly elite from the pack and many of these Top25 teams could reasonably be slotted up or down some distance. We also did not put out an end-of-the-regular-season edition, so expect some more movement than usual with the extra games between rankings.

Here are the Final Season 8 Pro Rankings, enjoy.

===========================================================

Final Season 8 Top25

1 . (1) Monmouth Evil Monkeys ( USAPL ) … 437 (7) << PWT Champs & Badger's Champs >>

Nuge20 - Csonka is the best player in GLB in this sim, they played well all season despite some playoff mishaps, still #1 due to others faltering as well
Sik Wit It - I guess Csonka's 182 carries in his 3 previous games took a toll on him. They did end the season on a high note becoming the first World Pro Tournament Champions, and winning the Badger Invitational. They also got 3rd place in Hazy's tourney.
Hokiemon - Arguably one of the toughest schedules ever in GLB with all of the tournament wins. Only lacked in finishing it with a USAPL title.
robponce - The most dominant team in season 8, loses the big one.
nthomas - was #1 all the way until the last game.
boomer82 - Rough end of the season, still better than pretty much everyone
thehazyone - as good a season as has ever been had in GLB with a dominant scrimmage schedule and dominating their conference. This season, however, will always be remembered for them for their failure to bring home the gold in USA Pro.
Gmathiasf - With no team winning a major tourney AND a league Championship, there is no clear #1, but MEM consistently dominated this season and won the PWT, arguably the best collection of dot talent in any single competition this season.
lukin83 - #1 team until Day 40, IMO

2 . (NR) Las Vegas Gamblers ( USAPL ) … 429 (8) << USAPL Champs & Landry's Co-Champs >>

Nuge20 - USAPL Champs, still had a bad regular season so cannot be top 5 imo
Sik Wit It - Yep, they did the undoable...beat Monmouth Evil Csonkas in the USA Pro Championship game, won 15 of their last 16 including 12 in a row in the best league on GLB. They deserve this spot.
Hokiemon - Won the toughest PRO league out there, by beating the previous #1 team no less.
robponce - #1 in USAPL. Hazy has earned this spot.
nthomas - great playoff run erases those early season losses.
boomer82 - Beat the best team in the best league, and stood up to the SI Slam. Well done gents.
thehazyone - they might have one of the worst records of any one in the top 25, but this doesn't mean they aren't deserving of being near the top. 12 straight wins that culminated in a USA Pro title including a brutal stretch that included DDL, the Maulers, the OFG's twice, and Monmouth.
Gmathiasf - Did anyone master the Season 8 sim better than LVG? 0-4 to start the season. Haven't lost a league game, tourney game or scrimmage since St. Patrick's day. USA Pro Champs certainly have an argument for #1.
lukin83 - USA Pro champions - knocking off MEM only helps

3 . (4) Washington Wolfpack ( USAPL ) … 401 (3) << Hazy's Champs & Landry's Co-Champs >>

Nuge20 - Some solid wins against teams like the Benitos
Sik Wit It - Another USA team. Not a champion but I think they would be in some other Pro leagues. I know I always talk about tough USA Pro competition...but it really is. Winners of Hazy's tournament and in the Final of Landry's which is yet to be played.
Hokiemon - Only losses on the season were to MEM, hard to complain about that.
robponce - Not saying anything Sik and Kr0n can talk smack about
nthomas - painful to rank them here, but they are the best this season
boomer82 - Elite team, elite dots, terrible trolls
thehazyone - beat every one they played but Monmouth.
Gmathiasf - Wolfpack had a tremendous first season in the Pros. Won Hazy's and won every game this season played against teams not named MEM.
lukin83 - One of the toughest teams and they play in the toughest league

4 . (16) Drinkin Hellraisers ( CPL ) … 386 << CPL Champs >>

Nuge20 - CPL Champs, great season
Sik Wit It - Although sort of a sleeper team due to being in the West, Drinkin showed they weren't to be overlooked with a win over Marblehead in the championship game.
Hokiemon - Winners of the 2nd best league in GLB, but a 50/50 basic AI win in the title game doesn't do much for me tbh
robponce - Stobie's crew takes down a CPL championship and fight their way to a top ranking
nthomas - CPL championships carries some weight
boomer82 - Beat the best team in the 2nd best league, and didn't abuse SI Slam during the season.
thehazyone - winning the CPL title is no small feat, easily warranting Drinkin a top 5 spot.
Gmathiasf - Great team with one of the class owners in the game. CPL Champs still get a high rating on my board.
lukin83 - On top of CPL - not sure if that means something or not

5 . (2) West Scranton Invaders ( OPL ) … 365 << TOC Champs >>

Nuge20 - Best Team in GLB if the sim was normal
Sik Wit It - Just not their season. Would be an amazing season for anyone else, but they fell considerably due to losses in tourneys, and the Pipeline Nites beat them in the finals.
Hokiemon - Not the usual dominant season for them, but still one of the best in GLB
robponce - It still hasn't set in that nautilis is not a champion. Fantastic group still.
nthomas - tough one point loss drops them from the top 3.
thehazyone - their domination, like the Benitos, has come to an end as Banzai took them down in the league title game.I'd like to see them playing more top CPL and USAPL teams next season.
Gmathiasf - Came back to win the TOC and though their league win streak ended, this is a tremendous team.
lukin83 - Possibly the best team in GLB, but the Season 8 sim says differently

6 . (13) Marblehead Longhorns ( CPL ) … 333

Nuge20 - Made it to the Mountie Bowl, solid season, solid team.
Sik Wit It - Fought through some really tough teams in the Cheetahs, ALB, and Dryden to get to the finals.
robponce - Long run ends up just short.
nthomas - nice playoff run
boomer82 - Shoulda stuck to the running game a bit more imo
thehazyone - made it to the CPL finale with impressive wins along the way.
Gmathiasf - Final 4 in PWT, Won the CPL East by sending home Cheetahs, Stompers and Dryden.
lukin83 - Arguably the best team in CPL

7 . (20) Emmaus Fighting Green Hornets ( EEPL ) … 315 << EEPL Champs & Coca-Cola Champs >>

Nuge20 - Great season, classy team
Sik Wit It - Seemingly came out of nowhere and took EEPL by storm. Great wins over Prague, ALB, ***OFG***, Banzai Pipeline. THis team really impressed me.
Hokiemon - Can't argue with their season , especially that shiny new PRO trophy
robponce - Filthy Defense follows giving up 6 points in the Conference Championship, by giving up only 9 and earns them a Shiny Gold Trophy.
nthomas - ran through EEPL and many of the GLB-wide tourneys.
thehazyone - one of the hotter teams in GLB, after a week 6 loss they rolled on their way to the Eastern Europe title.
Gmathiasf - Great debut in the Pros and a tremendous season in EEPL. Dominated the playoffs and controlled the LC.
lukin83 - Once thought to be an overrated team in a weak league, EFGH did nothing but climb the rankings all season

8 . (6) Dryden Blues ( CPL ) … 285

Nuge20 - Asheme makes everything better
Sik Wit It - Had a good run, but eventually got put to a stop by the Longhorns.
robponce - Asheme is still the man.
thehazyone - one of the most consistent CPL franchises found themselves on the short end of a basic AI conference championship game. One only wonders how it would have turned out if they had used AI.
Gmathiasf - Final 4 in Hazy's. Just a great dotball team.

9 . (NR) Brazilian Waxers ( SAPL ) … 283 << SAPL Champs >>

Nuge20 - Good Exploits!
Hokiemon - This is a power ranking, and as such, like LVG, they've proven when the chips were down, they could, and would, do whatever it takes to win.
thehazyone - if their owner's name was SI, they'd change their name to the Santiago STOMPERS.
Gmathiasf - Great defense. Beat Santiago twice in 1 season and took home the SAPL trophy.
lukin83 - Knocked the Benitos off twice en route to a SAPL crown!

10 . (NR) Banzai Pipeline 'Nites ( OPL ) … 257 << OPL Champs >>

Nuge20 - 2nd best in OPL but won the championship, could have been higher but there are a lot of good teams
Sik Wit It - Hell of a season, and a great team.
Hokiemon - Took out some very good teams to win the OPL title
robponce - Outstanding finish to a surprising team. Not many had them here at the start of the season, but a tough tough team.
nthomas - great playoff run!
thehazyone - before WSI dominated OPL, Banzai did. It looks like they are back to their old ways.
Gmathiasf - Broke the longest streak in GLB and finished strong.
lukin83 - Finished with strong wins against MUV and WSI after a sketchy start

11 . (18) Lake Opeta Legionnaires ( APL ) … 247

Nuge20 - Jedi Knight Imo
Sik Wit It - Yes...I know they lost in the championship game. Still had a hell of a season though getting to the final in Hazy's tournament which included an asskicking of the Monkeys, and as many wins over top 25 teams as anybody.
robponce - Jedi Knight is a beast. Otherwise, sad to see their run of great games come to an end.
nthomas - top 3 if they win their championship game.
thehazyone - they should have Jedi Knight smalled the APL finale. Still a great team though.
Gmathiasf - Runner up in Hazy's and showed they could exploit this season's sim with the best of them. They just typically chose not to. Great team here.
lukin83 - Representing APL

12 . (3) Santiago Benitos ( SAPL ) … 231

Nuge20 - Looked beatable and were beaten, I expect a big resurgence next season though
Sik Wit It - Definitely looked beatable this season and it showed. Their amazing 85 (I think) game win streak was put to an end, and the Waxers showed them out of the playoffs.
thehazyone - are their days of dominance over? Signs point to yes.
Gmathiasf - Failed when it counted.
lukin83 - A great season, but not up to their normal standards

13 . (NR) ***Official*** Footballguys ( USAPL ) … 225

Nuge20 - Solid team, good season in USAPL, lost to the eventual champions
Sik Wit It - Made a great playoff run and only lost by 1 to the eventual champs. Also got to the final 4 of the PWT.
thehazyone - best 9-7 team in GLB. It's not even close.
Gmathiasf - Mastered the sim by the end. Final 4 in PWT. Final 4 in USA.
lukin83 - A conference championship appearance in USA Pro is no small feat

14 . (5) Cincinnati Shockers ( USAPL ) … 222

Nuge20 - Basically a solid USAPL team with good scrimmage resume, playoffs left a lot to be desired
Sik Wit It - Didn't have the best playoffs, but got to the Elite 8 in the PWT and Hazy's, and the Final of Badger's invitational.
thehazyone - got Strong I slammed by the OFG's in their playoff game, but like Green Bay this team is still one of GLB's elite.
Gmathiasf - Great season overall. Came up just short across the board.
lukin83 - 13 wins in the fierce USAPL plus a great scrimmage record

15 . (23) Graz Grizzlies ( WEPL ) … 187 << WEPL Champs >>

Nuge20 - 20-0, didnt falter in the playoffs despite an attempted I-Slam fest
Sik Wit It - Have looked strong all season and continued to take care of business in the playoffs.
Hokiemon - Finished a perfect season the perfect way
nthomas - stormed through the WEPL playoffs
thehazyone - Rolled through Western Europe en route to a 20-0 championship season. If it weren't for their scrimmage schedule they'd be top 5 for sure.
Gmathiasf - How many teams went 20-0 in the Pros this season?
lukin83 - WEPL champions after an undefeated season

16 . (9) Green Bay Maulers ( USAPL ) … 165

Nuge20 - Playoff loss would not have mattered as much if there was any sort of scrimmage resume to go by
Sik Wit It - Really hard to rank this team due to lack of scrimmages. They were the regular season USA Pro East champs though, which speaks volumes.
thehazyone - tough loss to Gamblers in the playoffs, but this team is still one of GLB's elite.
Gmathiasf - Great team that likely is a top 10 team in all of GLB. They just ran into the LVG freight train.
lukin83 - Early exit from the playoffs, but impressive nonetheless

17 . (7) Lincoln Navigators ( USAPL ) … 157

Sik Wit It - Getting to the final of the WPT, and getting Csonka'd has to count for something right? Had a few tough breaks during the season, but I think are still definitely a top 25 team.
thehazyone - on the downhill slide after a very rough end of the season.
Gmathiasf - Probably higher on my board than most because of a 1st round playoff exit. Runners-up in PWT and overall a tremendous season was too much for me to ignore.
lukin83 - Started the season off as the hottest team in the game

18 . (15) Halifax Explosion ( CPL ) … 127

Nuge20 - Best Coordinators were not used in playoffs
Sik Wit It - Good season all-around, although they were out of the playoffs round 2.
thehazyone - impressive scrimmage wins get this team just into the top 25.
Gmathiasf - Failed when it counted.

19 . (NR) East St Louis Tire Fires ( SEAPL ) … 116 << SEAPL Champs >>

Nuge20 - Solid SEAPL Championship win
Sik Wit It - Impressive championship victory by 1 point!
Hokiemon - Back where they belong as Super Wok champs
nthomas - Close win in the championship game gained them a few spots
thehazyone - the Tire Fires are back. After a quiet regular season, they surprised every one in SEAPL by winning the title.
lukin83 - SEAPL champs warrant a spot in the top 25

20 . (12) Prague Punishers ( EEPL ) … 113

Sik Wit It - Kind of disappointing near the end of the season in scrims and the Championship game.
nthomas - LCG loss drops them down
thehazyone - the 2nd best team in EEPL but they struggled mightily in scrimmages against USAPL teams.
Gmathiasf - Great season including Elite 8 in PWT and a CC in EEPL.
lukin83 - Along with EFGH, making a name for EEPL

21 . (NR) Porto Alegre Smugglers ( SAPL ) … 111

Nuge20 - Solid team, tough loss to the Waxers
thehazyone - are here mainly because of the Krazy Monkey's post season failures and their own impressive playoff run.
Gmathiasf - Been around the top 25 all season. A Conference win puts them in for me.

22 . (14) Mata-Utu Voodoo ( OPL ) … 79

Nuge20 - Faltered after 16-0 regular season
thehazyone - had a 16-0 regular season but had no answer for Banzai in the CCG.
Gmathiasf - Great season beginning to end. I expect them to be on this list for many seasons to come.
lukin83 - Undefeated regular season in the Meat Grinder that is OPL Zeta

23 . (10) Adriana Lima Beans ( CPL ) … 76

Nuge20 - 2nd round loss, need to prove their worth
Sik Wit It - See Halifax. I put them lower though because of the stupid name change
Gmathiasf - I've seen this movie before...

24 . (8) KrAzY MoNKeYs ( SAPL ) … 71

Nuge20 - Solid regular season, some good scrimmage wins, lost fairly early in SAPL playoffs though
Gmathiasf - No showed in playoffs this season.

25 . (21) Louisiana Screaming Pelicans ( SEAPL ) … 68

Nuge20 - Lost a really tough SEAPL final
Sik Wit It - Heartbreaking 1 point loss keeps them from the gold in SEA Pro.
nthomas - Close loss in the championship game cost them a few spots.

Really Hazy? Because you can judge dominance by the shittiest sim season to date.

I usually agree with Hazy and Disagree with Voltron on these things BUT Havoc will make things right with The Benitos

I actually agree with you. I was just saying that they'd shown signs of vulnerability - something they'd never shown in the past, shitty sim or not.

Bottom line is we lost 3 games all year...ONe in the league title game. Why is that any more important to this poll than the WORLD CUP title game which was the best of the best, which this poll is. If this was the BEST TEAMS THAT WON THERE LEAGUE poll that would be one thing, but it's the best PRO TEAMS in GLB for the entire season. We won 2 of three major tourneys and finished second in our league title game. Counting playoffs and tourney games we we went 38-3 this year. If you think losing our league title game your wrong. Carolina lost the ACC tourney If they win tonight are they #1 in the country.

We the USA PRO title game Yet we won the GLB CUP tourney

Great list. Thanks for compiling it. I am sure it took a lot of time. BTW Emmaus's in-season loss was a close one due to a chemistry hit the day after they signed my 2 players.

Hey, we beat the 3 teams ranked above us (Shockers, ***O***, and split with the Gamblers, losing on the 10 points we gave up on fumbled KO returns in the POs) and, like Hazy, I have no problem with our ranking either. Sometimes there is more to it than head to head. In our case, we didn't do tourneys and that's the price. Such is life...Congrats to all the teams on the list for having great ssns.
