I see. My team is 5-1, with our one loss coming from a field goal with 12 seconds left. I just think the 3-4 is more practical for stopping the run. I have my LBs train tackling and spped, and no one gets by them. We have shut out all but 1 opponent I think. Why would you say the 4-3 is better?

I like the 3-4 becuase with the formation set up to stack the box, it looks like a 5-2 defense which is my favorite.

So yes, some people use 3-4, you may not notice as it can look different than the traditional.
