The level 17 QB who is a holdover for NY wants to be traded. The team he apparently wishes to go to offered me a cash-only deal.

Honestly, I don't care a bit about losing him. My own QB is level 17 (well he is an unboosted 14 until I need to boost him) so it isn't a big deal to replace him in the lineup.

My issue is that given the state this roster was in, about the only thing I DON'T need is cash.

So, am I jerk for wanting to trade him for players, regardless of where I trade him? (And yes, I will of course try to trade him where he wants to go - even though I am shaking my head about his attitude.)

trade him and get yourself the best value possible.

Unless you can manage to work out a player for player trade with the other owner, there's absolutely no good answer to your situation. You'll either be a jerk for keeping the guy or a jerk for trading him where he doesn't want to go.

Eh, I won't hold him hostage, as I have a QB we can put on the team...

I just would hope that a level 17 QB would net me some players in return, not just cash...

*shrug*

lol the thing with trading for players who don't want to go to your team is that they'll cause problems down the line and immediately as well. Better to just let him go where he wants to go just so no one gets screwed over while taking the best possible offer available.

Yea I sorta agree with PS3 here... I am really not looking to cause problems for him or the team who would inherit him.

That said, I have to believe a level 17 QB has some real value, more than just cash, on the open market.

Bad spot to be in for sure, but I agree with the others that posted the best thing to do is send him where he wants to go and get the best they'll offer ... cash only or maybe cash plus some special teams help, something.

How did you acquire two teams in the same region?

Either a little oversight by Bort or Bort agreed to it.

I didn't understand that either. I didn't think that he would let me sell it to him. I think they wanted the team to try and get back up on their feet as quickly as possible and didn't care how many teams the person had.

I actually offered to relinquish the Anchorage team... it is kinda just a testing team for us anyway. We will be selling it after the season I think, as our group really only has enough characters to stock 3 teams, not 4.

It's not.

To update: I have PM'd him and told him that since I was not given adequate time to find a replacement QB for our organization, I will start him today. As long as he doesn't change his settings to the detriment of the team, I will trade him exactly where he wants to go after the game. This gives me two days to work out replacing him, as we will then have 4 teams and only 3 QBs.
