CAPE TOWN - The Cape Town Shinobis have accepted a stadium offer to move their team from the continent's anchor all the way up to Giza, Egypt — nearly 5,000 miles away.
"Goodbye Cape Town you have been good to me," longtime center and fan favorite Fergus Talbold said. "I and the entire organization thank you Cape Town for all of your support. Goodbye."
The team will be newly named the Giza Gremlins. Owner Sims50 had entertained offers from Cape Town to stay in a newly furnished stadium there, but the deal in Giza just proved too much to pass up. Sims has made a number of moves in free agency this season as well as bringing on board a new OC and DC.
General manager midgensa stays in place as the Gremlins hope the change of scenery will mean big things to come for this team that seems to be a chronic underachiever. Team financier Anebriated remains on board as a top consultant and adviser to Good Game Giza Gremlins Incorporated.
"I think we have a strong nucleus of players here," Midge said. "As we move to the Northern Hemisphere, we think the new stadium and new free agents will help push us into elite status in just a short time."
