Its just one of those days football players hate. Weather forecasts said it was going to be cool and calm for the Miami Makos and the Gulf State Demons game, but as we all know weather men can never be trusted. As the pregame festivities were coming to a close, mother nature let out a cry of disapproval. Heavy rain and strong winds hampered the game from beginning to end, effecting every player involved. Passes thrown to the right hit a wall of wind and flew to the left, field goals attempts went wide, even angry coaches gameplan cards flew out of their hands. It wasnt a pleasant game to watch.
In Demons QB Kristian Klausen first foul-weather game he didnt perform well going 14/29 and 112 yards (0/0). The Demons once again counted on the running game for support and they didnt deliver all of want the coaches asked for. Leading rusher Speeed Racer ran 16 times for 59.5 yards and the Demons only score. I talked to him after the game and he had this to say, "Look man this wasnt a great game for anybody. Im going to get home and wash mud out from places I didnt know mud could get to. The teams just going to go to practice tomorrow and study for the next game."
The bright side of the game was how well the defense played even though both defense had nature as the 12th man. Demons LB Bicuit Bennett had 10 Tkls and 2 forced fumbles. The defense is coming together and hope to register a sack soon.
Head coach sgtjayb had little to say at the post game news conference. He mostly talked about how the weather was unexpected and he didnt prepare his team for that kind of weather and Miami had a slight advantage from it.
While the Gulf State Demons 2 game winning streak is over, they only dropped one spot in the USA BBB #15 Eastern Conference Standings to 8th place. The Miami Makos are in 10th place.
Next game for the Gulf State Demons: Scranton Wilkes-Barre Menzingers
Next game for the Miami Makos: @Memphis Showboats
