For the second game in a row, the San Jose Chupacabra won a close decision over the Buffalo Bullets, 16-13. A 4th quarter touchdown plunge by Darian Keene put the Chupacabra into the lead and back in the win column again.

“It’s a great win…a great win,” said owner K9Fiend, “Opening the season with back to back wins is exactly what I envisioned when I brought a team to San Jose.”

The contest was largely a defensive contest but was broken open with a huge pass play from quarterback Remo Rankin to Jayden Pina in the third quarter. Pina broke a tackle by Lickety Split and rumbled almost 70 yards for the touchdown. Three interceptions in the fourth quarter and the go ahead score by Keene sealed the deal for the Chupacabra.

“Our secondary just flat out broke their backs,” said outspoken linebacker Demetrius McQueen, “It was beautiful baby… Lookin at their quarterback’s eyes and just seeing fear. If he throws it, he’s scared of us grabbin another one. If he don’t…well you know that Demetrius is gonna bring the pain baby.”

“If our defence keeps playin like this, quarterbacks are gonna be suing our asses for abuse,” added McQueen.

When asked why he hadn’t yet collected a sack, McQueen smiled calmly and asked the reporter to a side room for an interview. The reporter emerged 5 minutes later, broken and bloody.

The Chupacabra next face the L.A Reign, who are thus far winless this season.

“They’re hungry. They’ve got a solid team and they’re looking for that first win,” said wideout Moe Ashley, “But we’re coming to win.”
