Exactly what i was thinking, the only way to make this possible is to give the owner power over their players that watch the games, chat rooms are a great idea. Bort just needs to model them based off of what he sees on other sites

Great idea.....anything that makes this game more fun for the players will have players that will stick around and play for many seasons. This is one of those ideas. Should not be hard to implement, and would lead to tremendous team building. If two teams are watching the game together, it would lead to much more in the way of rivalries, which are great for the games longevity.

I'm for this idea... Have a link from the team page/game page to a "Live Broadcast" that happens once, at a pre-determined time... Like :01 past the sim's completion, where an owner can set the viewing parameters for the 'game film' - such as speed. Also, the outcome would not be released until the 'broadcast' had finished, so as to not 'ruin the surprise'.

This would be open only to team members, who want to chat about plays as they happen on the 'big screen'.

Just a thought, but I like it. Great for team atmosphere and keeping people involved, week to week. But it would have to be right at game time / kickoff, as that's the most likely time you'll have the most users logged in looking to watch the game. Once the score is there, few will want to wait til a later time to watch and find out.

Would this take up server space? I don't know much about that.

For now, I could imagine the band-aid approach would be to have a chat room up in one window and the sim going in the other window. Everyone's sim would be out-of-sync, though.

This would be nice, but it seems like it would be tough to create and a space-hog.

i have no idea if it would take server space or not..

i don't know anything about programming - but i wouldn't think temporary chat rooms would take much server space..

other than that; you're just watching the game - which is stored on the server either way

Maybe not so much public to everyone, but open to people in the league. So if it was the "game of the week" or a big playoff game.

It is a good idea. It would be fun to watch the game with as many teammates as possible. The big games would be a mad house.

I love the idea. I'd love it even more with the actual plays, not just the words. I'd love even more if the dots had numbers to make it easier to tell who's on the field.

I like it. Have the normal play-by-play dots running on one side and a chat on the other. Team owners and possibly GMs could mod the chat similar to the way justin.tv works.
