The Gulf State Demons concluded practice today and are feeling confident they're ready for some stiff competition in the Chicago Bullets. Head Coach sgtjayb had this to say about how practice went, "I think our boys did well today. Film session was good, on-field practice went well. Klausen looked good out there today, was a little short on some of his throws but thats what rookies do."
A roster change was made as well as the opening day kicker ImaGood Kicker was replaced by fellow rookie Taylor Cook in a seeming odd move because ImaGood Kicker didnt have any chance to prove himself in last weeks game as they were shutout and shutdown offensively. I asked the HC about this and he responded, "Look I have 2 rookies kickers on the roster and I think both are pretty d**n good. Kicker just wasnt hitting the long FGs that Cook was hitting in practice, so I made the switch. Cook's a kid that has ice water running through his veins even through run-throughs' so I feel if were down 2 with 1 second remaining I want him to win us the game.
Now the Chicago Bullets look to have a monster of an offense averaging 31 PPG, and while the Demons seem to have a solid defense, they got burned by the Strikers last game. HC sgtjayb told me that they hope to play a physical defensive set and hit the Bullets in the mouth early and often. I hope for their sake they're right, but I see the Bullets winning 38-17.
