This is one of the best guides I have seen written in GLB! Props to you, NYGfan303! I have saved this as my special teams "Bible".

Tbh this is somewhat of a Bug.

Check out David Clark and Becca Bec they have some sort of pathing bug

Maybe get a better example?

I don't see an option to set up a punt return team, only KOS and KRS.

8: This is going to be the fastest person on your punt return team. He will either get one of the people coming in from the outside, or he will serve as a lead blocker for the returner if the people from the outside are blocked. He should be fast and have a little bit of strength and blocking. 8 is a good place to put a fast FB or a TE that was built for receiving.

9 and 10: This is the hardest position on the punt return team. They will need to be fast and good blockers. This can be a good place for FB's, TE's, fast linemen, and even strong WR's.

Still, the golden rule is build over position. A 1-4 should just have very high strength and blocking. A 5-6 should have high blocking and strength, but also a little bit of vision and agility. A 7 should have a good balance of speed, strength, and blocking. An 8 should have high speed and agility with some strength. A 9-10 should have a good mix of speed, agility, strength, and blocking (sort of like a 7, but 9-10's should be slower and stronger).

its kinda flawed right now in that you have to set up your return team for both, so you wanna gear it to what you think youd be best at.. high agil + carrying for punts, higher speed for kicks

I've just trawled through a few pages of the suggestions forum to see if anyone's been talking about this recently. I find it hard to believe there isn't more of a movement to introduce separate KOS/KRS & PST/PRS

This is not a pathing bug Stuart. Lenny Lenny blocks the DE instead of David Clark the SS leaving him to run through the gap. Becca Bec comes free because Fred Flinstone decides to double Porn Star (wouldnt you ?). As soon as both get thru the hole they break inside. Immediately, Jeremiah and Courtney break off their man and jump on those 2, which is exactly what they should do if they have the vision/agi/speed. Ray Griffen makes an outstanding last second block on Charles Chooch which frees the returner for the TD. He misses that block the KR gets pummeled. The LB Tackle Star must be lil light on Vision as he reacts to slowly to get the angle on the KR. TOUCHDOWN

So, no real pathing problem. Just a great KRS

Remember this is from Season 5 and a lot has changed since then (more Punts kicked OOB to the corners, better use of Vision by returners Etc.), so only the basic idea of position based on attributes still applies. Still the best I know of even now 2 seasons later. If someone knows of another written recently please PM me and let me know.

Thoughts on listing more than 10 players?


I like to dictate which guys might sub in if one (or more) of the 10 is tired. Anyone else do this. If no, why not?

It would not work well. The ST depth chart is (for some reason) set up like any other positions depth chart. The #1 on the depth chart is treated like the #1 on a RB depth chart. If you add more people, it will might make the least tired person move up in the order and it will throw off where everyone is lined up. At least, that is what happened to me when I tried it. Hopefully in the future the different spots on ST can be set up like different positions.

Ignoring the "order" effects of putting more than 10 people in, doesn't that guarantee that it only put those people in on special teams and won't pull from the general roster?

I.E. If you put 15 ppl in the special teams, as the first 10 get tired, it pulls from #11 - 15 to backfill, and no one else.

Yeah, that's the case. But generally, one would think that'd be recommended only if the whole entire group was interchangeable in attributes, and therefore unlikely to have someone- or most of the squad- put out of position due to a substitution.

But seriously, ST shouldn't be on the field that dang much. On the more even contests, a person on a KOS or KRS unit could expect anywhere from 5-15 plays... maybe as high as 30+ if he plays on both sides. The only time the number of plays become horribly obscene is when the matchup is horribly lopsided.

Has this changed now with bort's release of the actual positions?
For example are positions 1 and 6 the useless distractions?
