in a surprise move, The Sacramento USA AA#2 team, formerly know as the Jayhawks, changed the team name and mascot to the Hawkeyes less than 24 hours before their scheduled home opener against the Portland Outlaws. Outlaws management appeared to be somewhat confused, stating that this totally changes their game plan strategy being that they've scouted the wrong team.

utilizing brilliant public relations strategy, the Hawkeyes announced that concession stands will replace all foam fingers purchased by fans last year along with the purchase of a beer and a hot dog or nachos (only one replacement per transaction, please...customers must be of legal drinking age).

rumours are still abound that the team could move to Iowa if a new stadium deal isn't inked by Sacramento officials by the end of the season. new team owner Rowento could not be reached for comment and the Sacramento front office remains tight lipped over the recent turn of events stating that they are too busy, having worked overnight putting together new replica jerseys for game time, and have no time to respond to rumours.
