Rookie QB Kristian Klausen promised a show for the home opener of the Gulf State Demons, but it was Klausen who got showed up. New York Striker QB Peyton Manning Jr. went 21/39 and threw for 147 yards, 1 TD and 1 Int. plus the running back tandem of Rush Harding and austin goe ran for a combined 121 yards and 1 TD.

Gulf State couldn't get anything on the ground rushing 20 times for 22 yards- a measly 1.1 YPC. Lack of a ground game forced Klausen to create plays for the offense and he failed to deliver, going 14/33 with 101.5 yards passing.

The Striker defense was outstanding, pitching a shutout and only allowing 134.5 yards of total offense from the Demons. Questions were raised on whether the Striker defense could contain Demons star wideout Alan Thompson, and the answer was a suffocating yes. Thompson only grabbed one ball for 7.5 yards and was a non-factor in the offense. Striker DT Xavier Francis was the only DL on either team to record a sack. The one highlight for the Demon defense, who allowed 334 yards of offense, recorded one Int. from SS Kurt Glover, who intercepted the Manning Jr. pass off of LB Harold North's tipped ball.

The Demons are currently 14th in the USA BBB #15 Eastern Conference. While the Strikers move to 7th.

Next game for Gulf State Demons: Chicago Bullets (1-0-0)

Next game for New York Strikers: Memphis Showboats (0-1-0)

Good job. Hope we can do enough next game to get something positive out of this reporter.

Nice job really. Nice that the Demons got a press reporter now.

I have talked to QB Klausen and he is ready to do better in the next game, which he assured he would.
