1) Base Stadium Maintenance Costs

Every stadium ever built requires maintenance. Maintenance costs for the stadium itself would be determined by each seating section. The more sections purchased, the more the maintenance. All costs are based on a simple number, I am sure that if this is implemented the cost for maintenance per section would be required to be higher.

-100 Bowl (10 Sections) = $25,000.00 per Section (per Season)
-200 Bowl (10 Sections) = $45,000.00 per Section (per Season)
-300 Bowl (4 Sections) = $65,000.00 per Section (per Season)

The Base Stadium Maintenance Costs would increase each season after the purchase season.

-100 Bowl (10 Sections) would increase by 1% each additional season (per section)
-200 Bowl (10 Sections) would increase by 1% each additional season (per section)
-300 Bowl (4 Sections) would increase by 2% each additional season (per section)

100 Bowl Example: Owner completes 100 Bowl before season 10;

-Season 10: Costs of the purchase + $250,000 for the maintenance of that season.
-Season 11: $250,000.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $25,000.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $275,000.00
-Season 12: $275,000.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $27,500.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $302,500.00
-Season 13: $302,500.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $30.250.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $332,750.00
-Season 14: $332,750.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $33,275.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $366,025.00
-Season 15: $366,025.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $36,602.50 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $402,627.50

200 Bowl Example: Owner completes 200 Bowl before season 12;

-Season 12: Costs of the purchase + $450,000.00 for the maintenance of that season.
-Season 13: $450,000.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $45,000.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $495,000.00
-Season 14: $495,000.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $49,500.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $544,500.00
-Season 15: $544,500.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $54,450.00 (10% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $598,950.00

300 Bowl Example: Owner completes 300 Bowl before season 14;

-Season 14: Costs of the purchase + $260,000 for the maintenance of that season.
-Season 15: $260,000.00 (Maintenance Cost for entire Season) + $20,800.00 (8% of the previous Season's Maintenance Cost) = $280,800.00

Entire Maintenance Cost Per Season:

-Season 10: $250,000.00
-Season 11: $275,000.00
-Season 12: $752,500.00
-Season 13: $827,750.00
-Season 14: $910,525.00
-Season 15: $1,282,377.50

You can see how this will continue to increase Base Stadium Maintenance Costs.

2) Stadium Structural Integrity

Each stadium would be given a bar to describe its structural integrity, 100 = Mint Condition, 0 = Condemned

-100 = "State of the Art"
-90 = "Great Condition"
-80 = "Good Condition"
-70 = "Average Stadium"
-60 = "Below Average"
-50 = "Poor Stadium"
-40 = "Terrible Stadium"
-30 = "Rundown Stadium"
-20 = "Structural Instability"
-10 = "Unusable Stadium"
-0 = "Condemned"

Maintenance would be needed to maintain a optimal stadium.

However, regardless of the amount of maintenance, each stadium would eventually wear down enough to be unuseable. At that point (say 20 seasons), a new stadium would be required.

3) New Stadium Construction/Concept

A new stadium would be available for construction beyond the 8th season mark of a teams history and/or when the Stadium Structural Integrity is at 65 or lower. At that point, a owner would have a option on the Stadium Construction page that would include the type of stadium to be constructed (dome, open air, ect) and which features to include in its initial build (All suggested Stadium Additions (Later in OP) at a lower cost).

Building of a new stadium would cost a massive amount. Overall fan support could also effect this cost, a high fan support could simulate tax payer's financial support to a certain amount for a new stadium, therefore costing less to the team/owner. There could also be a Bank Loan to assist pay a portion of this cost.

The new stadium would have the following customizable options;

-Stadium colors
-Stadium graphic art (End zone art, midfield art)
-Playing surface (Turf, Grass and the color)

This idea plays in very well with Saintdix's Suggestion = http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1480216

4) Stadium Fund

Each team could have a "Stadium Fund" in order to set money aside for stadium building.

This would be set up similiar to the Equipment fund, with two allocations; Sectional Construction, New Stadium & Stadium Upgrades.

-Edited 16 Feb-

5) Stadium Upgrades:

*Possibly limit two per season to keep teams on the same level. Also could designate certain upgrades for use by certain Leagues. Example: Only PRO league teams could purchase Training/Practice Facility.

This would not be the same as Stadium Construction. This would include the following type of items:

* Prices may not realistic, but since I don't own my own NFL team.....I had to make some estimates. *

-$35,000,000.00 ($2,800,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year) - Stadium Roof(Retractable)
-$20,000,000.00 ($1,600,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year) - Stadium Roof(Hard Top)
-$15,000,000.00 ($1,200,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year) - Stadium Roof(Soft Top)
-$10,000,000.00 ($800,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Build Parking Garage
-$8,000,000.00 ($640,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Build Tailgating Area
-$7,000,000.00 ($560,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Build Team Practice/Training Facility
-$6,000,000.00 ($480,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Improved Scoreboard
-$5,000,000.00 ($400,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Medical Facility
-$4,000,000.00 ($320,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Improved Locker Rooms
-$3,500,000.00 ($280,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Stadium Pro Shop
-$2,000,000.00 ($160,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Stadium Speakers
-$2,000,000.00 ($160,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Build Improved Concession Stands
-$2,000,000.00 ($160,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Comfort Seating For Fans
-$2,000,000.00 ($160,000.00 Maintenance Fees Per Year)- Purchase Plasma Displays

- Other Suggested Possibilities -

1. Catering Service (Increase to your high income people)
2. Club Level Lounge (The place where medium/high income people go to be snooty together)
3. Escalators (People more likely to purchase upper level seats)
4. Pretzel Stand / Ice Cream Stand / Sushi Stand (All have their various plusses and minuses. Like the sushi is great for teams with high income fans)
5. Wall of Champions (Only for teams who have won a championship in their league)
6. Cheerleaders/Team Mascot
7. Air Guns (Shoots T-Shirts and other memorabilia into the crowd)
8. Halftime Show (Entertainment for Halftime, pumps up the crowd for the 2nd half)
9. Restaurants (Formal place for fans to eat before/during/after the game)
10. Team Hall of Fame (Place for fans to see their team's Hall of Fame players)

All of these upgrades would be purchasable in the off-season just like the stadium construction is.

6) Stadium Upgrade Maintenance Contracts

All of the suggested Stadium Upgrades would require a maintenance costs. The actual stadium itself should also require a maintenance cost.

Total maintenance costs would be determined and billed as a "Maintenance Contract"

There could also be a factor that would determine how old each upgrade is, and therefore billed even more money to the Maintenance Contract. Think of a 20 Year old stadium roof costing more to maintain than a 2 Year old stadium roof (logical to me).

Single Upgrade Purchased:

Only the designated maintenance fee would apply per year.

8% of each Stadium Upgrade would equal the Maintenance Cost. Every season after the purchase of a upgrade would increase the cost of the Maintenance by 10%.

Example: Stadium Roof (Retractable) is purchased during Season 10. The initial cost is $35,000,000 for the stadium (the maintenance fee is waived for the 1st season). The Maintenance Costs for the first season would equal the Base Maintenance Cost. Each additional season's maintenance cost would increase by 10%.

-Season X Costs = $35,000,000.00 (Purchase Price)
-Season X+1 Costs = $2,800,000.00 (Base Maintenance Cost) + $280,000 (Age Maintenance Cost) = $3,080,000.00
-Season X+2 Costs = $3,080,000.00 (Maintenance Cost From Season X+1) + $308,000.00 (10% of Season X+1's Maintenance Costs) = $3,388,000.00
-Season X+3 Costs = $3,388,000.00 (Maintenance Cost From Season X+2) + $338,800.00(10% of Season X+2's Maintenance Costs) = $3,726,800.00

This formal system would cause the maintenance cost to increase each season per upgrade (simulating actual wear and tear on a physical stadium/purchases and that as they age, they cost more per year).

These formulas would be used for each upgrade purchased throughout a stadium's existence. Just simply add the cost per upgrade for a Season's total Maintenance cost for Upgrades.

7) Stadium Upgrade Construction Page

All of these upgrades could be reflected on the Stadium page with small icons that either are included within a additional tab or could be superimposed onto the stadium itself.

Team graphics on the field of play would also be a very nice addition (Saintdix's Suggestion = http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1480216)

8) Stadium Advertising

All teams within the NFL have companies that advertise within the stadium. This would have a possibility of generating additional revenue for teams.

The advertising contracts could depend on the progress of the stadium;

100 Bowl completed - Maximum of $1,500,000 per year in advertising contracts
200 Bowl completed - Maximum of $4,000,000 per year in advertising contracts
300 Bowl completed - Maximum of $6,000,000 per year in advertising contracts

-Edited 16 Feb-
===============

9) Stadium Naming Rights

Team Owners would get a contract offer that would reflect the outcome of the previous season (I am looking for input on the amounts of the contracts and the formulas to determine them). The better a team does, the bigger the naming rights contract. Each contract would be for the naming rights to a company that doesn't exist (Yike, Baddias, ect).

On the Stadium Page there would be a "New Naming Rights Offer" under the box to rename the stadium. The offer would be something like;

Yike Express Stadium; 2 Years @ $5 Million per year
-or-
Baddias Stadium; 3 Years @ $2.5 Million per season that the team wins 10 games

10) Fan Support Attributes:

Think of some of the NFL Stadiums (Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City) that have a huge and passionate fan base. This idea would bring that aspect to GLB. Each Stadium Upgrade would increase a Fan Support Attribute.

Each Fan Support Attribute would be based primarily on team performance (win/loss record).

Fan Support Attributes;

Fan Chemistry - Ability to chant/yell/scream in a organized fashion.

- Increases the Home Team's Offensive Player's Morale (1st & Goal, Operating under a two minute drill & Backed up between their own 5 Yard Line and the End zone).
- Decreases the Away Team's Offensive Player's Morale (1st & Goal, Operating under a two minute drill & Backed up between their own 5 Yard Line and the End zone).
- Increases the Home Team's Defensive Player's Morale (When Away Team's Offense is under; 1st & Goal, Operating under a two minute drill & Backed up between their own 5 Yard Line and the End zone).
- Decreases the Away Team's Defensive Player's Morale (When Home Team's Offense is under; 1st & Goal, Operating under a two minute drill & Backed up between their own 5 Yard Line and the End zone).

Fan Passion - Fan's pride in their team.

- Increases the likelyness that the fans will purchase items from the Pro Shop and Concession Stands.

Fan Knowledge - These fans knows when thier team needs some encouragement.

- Increases the Home Team's Offensive Player's Confidence (3rd Down & Inches, 4th & Goals, Winning FG Attempts).
- Increases the Home Defense's Defensive Player's Confidence (Attempting to Stop 3rd Down & Inches, 4th & Goals & Blocking Winning FG Attempts).

11) Team Staff:

This does not include GMs.

Team Doctor - A team doctor would be available to treat injured players back to health and help prevent injuries.

Medical Technicians - Cheaper Team Doctors with less of a effect. Would also be able to improve player energy during halftime.

Team Physiologist - Would be able to help increase a teams confidence level.

Team Training Staff - Would assist players during training. This could improve the rarity that a player receives a breakthrough during training or the percentage that they player's trained attribute increases.

12) Concession Stands & Gift Shops

Concession & Gift Shops

Right now the Concessions for a Stadium include;

Beer
Microbrew
Soft Drink
Nachos
Hot Dog
Foam Finger
Replica Jersey

I think that it would be cool to split these items up into two places;

Concession Stands;

Selling:

Beer
Microbrew
Soft Drinks
Nachos
Pretzels (new)
Cheese Burgers (new)
Candy Bars (new)
Pickles (new)
ITEM X (Owner/GM can fill in what this would be, some sort of regional item)
ITEM Y (Owner/GM can fill in what this would be, some sort of regional item)

Gift Shops;

Selling:

Foam Finger
Replica Jersey
Footballs (new)
Team Placards (new)
Game Day Information Planners (new)
T-Shirts (new)
Sweat Shirts (new)
Item X (Owner/GM can fill in what this would be, some sort of regional item)

Instead of making this a simple "Set prices and monitor", it needs to be a "Supply & Demand".

It could be based on the fan support, but also on item interest (Demand). The Owner (or GMs) could monitor the "Supply & Demand" of these shops. They would have to "Order" supplies 4 times a season in order to meet the "Supply & Demand" of each item. This would put more thought into running the Stadium.

13) Stadium Regulation

Stadium Regulation

When a team is moved from a higher league to a lower league there should be some penalty on the stadium.

If the regulation is based on team performance and therefor only by one league the penalty would be small. If a AAA team request for a demotion to BBB, the stadium should have a larger penalty.

Single Demotion based on team performance

Ticket Sales Penalty

5% for the first season

Single Demotion by request

Ticket Sales Penalty

10% for the first season
5% for the second season

Double Demotion by request

15% for the first season
10% for the second season
5% for the third season

Triple Demotion by request

20% for the first season
15% for the second season
10% for the third season
5% for the fourth season

* Need more input on this part please *

-Edited 05 April-
=========================

This would also need to see a marked decrease in the Concessions Sales or these teams would just make up the short fall in ticket sales in high number of Concession sales.
=========================

14) Sectional Seating Customization

Design each section so that they are customizable, in regards to the type of seating. This would require the Owner/GM to have a more detailed plan and base construction on the type of support from each income tier.

100 Bowl Home Sideline Seating

Max Seating: 6,500

Normal Seating Max: 6,500
Club Seating Max: 500
Suite Seating Max: 200

200 Bowl Home Sideline Seating

Max Seating: 5,000

Normal Seating Max: 5,000
Club Seating Max: 1,000
Suite Seating Max: 500

300 Bowl Home Sideline Seating

Max Seating: 8,500

Normal Seating Max: 8,500
Club Seating Max: 2,000
Suite Seating Max: 1,250

Each section would have a maximum capacity seating number. That number could be any combination of the three types of seating offered; Normal, Club & Suite.

-Edited 12 April-

* Need more input on this part please *
=========================

15) Preseason Income

To paraphrase 99's suggestion;

Preseason games should bring in income from;

Each team would be given a parking lot to begin season 10. The team could then sell parking tickets to preseason games. They would receive income from the parking ticket sales, game ticket sales and concession stand sales. There would also be a possibility of upgrading the parking lot to have more space (expanding) or eventually building a parking garage (listed in the Stadium Upgrades section).

=========================

16) Seating For Ambiance

This would be like Tampa Bay stadium, Coors Field is pretty cool looking)

Cheesy? Possibly. But this would also effect the fan experience & fan support.
Give up a portion of seating (lvl 1 & / or 2 Endzone) for additional bonus to fan support (an additional 1-2%). The additional support would give teams the chance to push seating prices up a small amount to try & make up for the loss of seats.
Cost: $750,000
Upkeep: $65,000 / season

Lvl 1 & 2 Seating For Lvl 3 Seating (inspired by the Horseshoe design)

Give up 1 endzone set (Both level 1 & 2) for a level 3 End zone on other side.
You are giving up the higher priced tickets at lower levels for the higher number of seats at higher levels.

Level 3
Normal Seats: 5684, Cost $3,500,000 (same ticket price drop off of Sidelines)
Max Norm Seats: 7605, Cost $1,100,000

===================

17) Additional Land Purchase

Teams would have the option to purchase additional land. This land could then be used to develop items for fan support;

Restraunts
Playgrounds
Sports Bar
ect

I still think these upgrades are too cheap.

They should all be more expensive or you'll win up with teams with no seating and all of the upgrades. All of the fan support upgrades might generate more revenue than buying a 1,500,000 section.
