I didn't think that was relevant, as we are only calculating the average.

aren't you going to apologize for your illiteracy first?

your second mistake is assuming that i would disagree with that answer despite your misphrasing. if you say you're 12 lightyears old, i get what you're trying to say -- i'm not like spin who would throw up his hands and say beepboop does not compute. but if you see me saying that a lightyear isn't a year, you might not want to disagree with me or you'll get another textwall.
I have yet to misphrase. It's you who has settled on a single definition of time that matches what you want it to be. The total amount of time spent by boys in the bathroom may = or <> the amount of time spent by the girl in the bathroom. Thus, time could mean more than one thing. You making the single assumption that we all must go by the time spent by the girl in the bathroom as the sole way time is represented means you continue to be wrong in your assertion and, while entertaining from a trolling aspect, leads me to believe that you are the type of person who crashed the Mars probe, while arguing that you *knew* that the Europeans were using metric but the proper route was Imperial units and so they were wrong.

you continue to misphrase the units. i realize you can't see this, but that doesn't change the facts.

nope. time is time. i don't have a special dictionary.

no shit. remember when i told you that the sum of the individual durations could exceed the total time?

wow. you are a legend. the word you're struggling to find is 'simultaneity'. stop trying to pretend that a minute isn't a minute or a meter isn't a meter. if you want duration, then calculate duration. don't blame the calculator.

excuse me, but i didn't order the word salad
p.s. are you trying to claim that the interval of time between 1:47 and 2:30 is greater than 43min? good luck with that.

Cat- I stated simultaneity in my first post. And the amount of time spent by each dude added together does not necessarily equal the time spent by the girl in there. Until you get past that, you are making an assumption about the dudes. Period.
You do have a special definition of time that does not match the rest of the world. To get the average time on field for football players, you need to know the time spent by each player on the field, sum that, then divide by the number of players. You would not take the length of the football game and divide by the total number of players in the game.
I'm hoping you know football a little better than you know bathroom sex so that this example helps you to figure things out.

Yes, you have indicated the "Elapsed time for the girl in the bathroom for each dude who showed up at some point during the period of time in question". That's great. That is an interesting math tidbit.
The problem is that you pointed out that fact that high school boys don't last long, given the above. The fact of the matter is that your calculation still does not in any way indicate the experience of the individual guys nor the average experience of the guys. It is still based on the time spent by the girl, with no information on the time spent in the bathroom of the guys, let alone the time spent by the guys having sex.

So this game is exceptionally slow and that's when you can play it.

congrats on being irrelevant again. the point is that "i've been consistently mentioning simultaneity from the jump" which disproves your claim that i have difficulty recognizing the concept. this is me proving you wrong again.

"no shit. remember when i told you that the sum of the individual durations could exceed the total time?" -- me, on this very page

nope, wrong again. not only are you agreeing with me that the sum of individual durations could exceed total time, your inability to read does not change the fact that only assumption being made is that by "average" we mean the arithmetic mean.

i'm going to ask you yet again what the word "each" means to you. you seem to insert it and remove it as if it's meaningless. stop it.

from this i'm going to assume that you agree with the assumption that by "average" we mean the arithmetic mean, at which point you can stop whining about assumptions.

not unless that's what you were trying to compute. most of your problem is that you keep trying to compute apples by calculating oranges and then start screaming at the calculator because it can't read your mind.

given your performance so far, i'm guessing most people know more than you about everything.
btw, you should try answering the question i posted. don't spin out, there's nothing to be scared of.

no shit. you keep dodging my question about what the word "each" means to you, but i could ask the same thing about the word "individual". for the love of god, stop randomly inserting and removing critical terms as if they don't matter.
