The SIM definitely doesn't favor the receiver on receptions. As far as this game's concerned this season, the defender has just as much right to the ball as the receiver. Maybe more if he's man to man and playing super close. Trouble is if the CB/Safety does that then his 50 catching is going to lose 90% of the time to the receiver's 90 catching especially on the deep passes. Going for the deflection is still the safest route. You give up what may be a game changing interception but you stop those absurd 3rd and 14 hurried receptions into triple coverage for 24 yards.
