OK I think being in business myself as a regional manager for Red Bull North America that I can help with what have to be "dwindling profits" in GLB..

This game has its core userbase. I'm pretty certain that not a whole lot is being done to lure more new users into the game so profit has to be pretty flat to in the red right Bort? Lets work on this because I love the game (Hate GLB2 but Love this one) The cost of flex is keeping players from staying and deterring new users from playing. I think that its probably time that you start working on "Penny Profit" margins. Lets stop trying to get the most that you can get per ring and try to get MORE RINGS. Its time brother, the game is starting to lose parts of its hardcore userbase and we need new users to keep it going.

WE ALSO NEED MODS THAT ALLOW US TO SHOW HUMOR ON FORUMS TOO JUST SAYIN but thats a whole nother discussion.....

Here read this. I'm sure that u already get it.

...well this is what killed this game from the start ...should have made it more agreeable to the average gamer from the beginning ...a lot of people see the ridiculous pricing and don't even give this game a chance to get sucked into ...being able to buy at a cheaper price would encourage more spending imo!

I posted this a little bit ago on the subject in a different forum.

You have to give money to make money. Its an easy concept. The game will die and they will not make a penny off the rest of its life span. Or they can bring in new life by adding a free player creating new activity. Yes you get people who get another free guy and never pay a cent. So what?! It costs them nothing to give a free player anyways, they loose no money. Their will be those who pay for a team to field the dots, people who pay for CEQ. People who pay to build an extra Dot or two to get the team to 55 players. Heck lowering the costs of flex would probably make them a ton of money. I know if flex wasn't so expensive to make a player in this game I'd buy a ton of it to field my own team. But instead they make almost nothing off me cuz I only pay for the custom equipment. When your product stops selling you give out samples and lower price. And the end result is they make a Profit! Correct me if Im wrong but that's what any good business wants right? GLB is to preoccupied with GLB2 though to worry about also getting profits from classic. They leaving money on the table here if you ask me

Damn straight Mith.

The way they treat their customers is worse than disgraceful and compounds their short-sightedness as a business. It seems to be a 'get while the gettin's good' mentality with a kind of "Hey, it ain't my business how you spend your money, but I'll take it all the same" attitude to any responsibility to their customers. Bort's invisibility and the lack of response to reasonable comments, suggestions or complaints smells of shady. Hell, there isn't even anywhere to officially complain. There is no complaints procedure, in other words. Our only recourse is a public forum that they can conveniently ignore.

Maybe if we bothered enough some kind of boycott or petition that flexes our customer muscle would make them wake up.

I'm not talking about them changing the game or the code according to every whim and foible of the userbase but as you suggest, but how about incentives to join? How about loyalty bonuses - every time you buy flex you earn points that you can later trade in for a player, for example (thus encouraging you to spend more flex). How about a loyalty bonus that makes Flex cheaper over time, example - spend $100 and Flex is 5% cheaper, spend $200 and it's 7.5% cheaper and so on up to a ceiling of say $500 and your flex is always 10% cheaper.

But making Flex cheaper in the first place would be, as you say, a massive incentive to keep playing or to join the game

...there would be more incentive if it was more attainable for an individual to own a team ...people must see the price for what it cost for 1/55 of a team and immediately close their mind to the possibility of getting involved at any capacity, and walk away before even putting a foot in the door

No way to know if this is true or not without seeing the books.

I think to this point, its been profitable. Sucking 1000 addicts dry probably netted more lucre than getting pocket change from 100,000 would have.

But the addicts are running out of coin or getting bored, and that means less of us are around to entertain each other, increasing the boredom and adding frustration and despair as it becomes harder to field a team or to be in a league with 16 competitive teams or at least no CPUs. Thus the reduction of addicts increases.

At some point the need to bring in more meat becomes more important than getting the last of the coin from the addicts wallets because you will otherwise lose too many addicts and the game crumbles.

So yeah, something should be done. The free player idea probably bought a year or more. But one player is not that much fun to play, so those guys may not be hanging around enough.

So something more must be done. Whether its advertising that free player more, or another free player or lowering prices or a combination, doing something different does seem like a good idea.

Why not just give rewards of a free player after every X amount of flex is purchased..... I'm sure someone better at math could find a good amount for X to equal.
