So these are my two TE's that are currently in the works and I will present my theories and keep their builds open their entire careers. I feel like this will be a nice way to examine certain attributes and their effects on particular plays/successes.

My Blocking TE: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1400854

Build Philosphy: Make Him a NATURAL Beast. So essentially pump any and all relative attributes to insane amounts and make him a quality physical specimen (rely less on SA's).

Build Discoveries: I've discovered that it is more than ideal to go to at least 74 on strength early on. I honestly wish I went higher SOONER and would even argue that it may be beneficial to go to 77 strength early on as well. High strength = destroys MOST defensive lineman.

My Receiving TE: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1583835

Build Philosphy: Create a POWER receiving TE who will lack in the speed/agility area, but have high catching/vision values as well as high strength/carrying values that will allow for a HIGH receiving bar (which should help him get thrown to more by the QB)... and once the ball is caught, they have a chance at extra yardage via broken tackles etc.

Build Discoveries: Still Early in the phase but I'll update once I get there.

If you have any questions/comments go ahead and post here or send me a PM. I am not stating that these are perfect builds or saying that you should or shouldn't approach your build the same way I have... I'm merely sharing my experiences in building TE's and hope you can come to your own conclusions based on my statements. Nothing in this game is set in stone and if the player isn't utilized properly, their great builds can and will become meaningless.

Will Provide Updates When I Feel It Is Noteworthy.

Yo misled! I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish,
but Meatdawg had one of the best receiving TEs of all time!

LOL... I am definitely using Meatdawg's current TE on Adult Swim as inspiration... but I took things a little further with strength and the such. Meatdawg has awesome players no doubt.

Wtf is this had shit!!!! Cash hasnt retired yet! =p (I would look to JDR's te as the model blocking te)

Yeah I wish I took str higher on Gresham then i did, but it will still end up higher then Cash's str.

I tried your power reciever approach. the problem is that all the recruiters are high on speed... they just don't view
TEs for what they are, so i ended up sinking some into speed just to get on teams. speed is overrated for TEs IMO
I think people try to make them cheap WRs.
I await to see how your experiment goes..
I ended up building a balanced TE, a lot of 60s

Lol, depends on how you use them. You can use a TE as a deep threat very effectively if he's fast than the LBs covering him

My guy had 16.5 yards per catch which lead the team

Thanks for the info. Your input is pretty much just reinforcing the build plan I had for my new TE.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1699023

The plan is for him to be a pure blocker. I've been debating going 77 Strength and 60 Blocking or going 73 Strength and 68 Blocking. I am leaning towards 73/68. I also am planning on Token Boosting for the first 2 or so season's and only have 1 piece of AEQ

Sounds very similar to my receiving TE build

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1575948

How high do you plan on taking speed?
what about str?
vision?
catching?

Just curious.

I'm about to start working on getting STR to the 4th cap while training catch+carry

I am taking str to the 3rd cap... which I just completed. Next I'm bringing catching to the 3rd cap and vision to the 2nd cap. I plan on bringing both agility and speed to the 3rd caps and carrying to the 3rd cap as well.

I think taking str to the 4th cap is a little overkill... but it's your guy... do whatever you want.

JDR has a very nice looking TE indeed but I'd have to throw my TE's hat into that arena as best blocking TE model.

this guy has his build open. he has all the right VA's SA's with lots of str. he had 58 catches with 33 broken tackles. so the build theory is sound. however his averages are low though. maybe this build with more speed agility to break a big one after a broken tackle? this would work
