nevermind the playoffs, lets take a look where the real games are. In the first round of the non playoff teams, Alpha smacked the Zeta teams by winning 6 of the 8 games!!!

I think this is really indicative of the power structure in WEPL Lets face it if aint the ALPHA or OMEGA then it must be the wimpy zeta!!

Home Team Away Team Score Conference
Stuttgart Nighthawks vs. Madrid Spartans 104-0 Alpha Conference
Lyon Sharks vs. Sandford, Gloucestershire Policeman Officers 38-10 Alpha Conference
Paris - Asnieres Molosses vs. Utopia Devil Dawgs 17-10 Alpha Conference
Aggieland Wrecking Crew vs. Madrid Maulers 71-0 Alpha Conference
Blackpool Mountain Lions vs. Helsinki Horned Frogs 12-10 Alpha Conference

Middleton Razorbacks vs. Paris Musketeers 0-25 Zeta Conference
Boondock Saints vs. DFools AllStars 0-16 Zeta Conference
Glastonbury Knights vs. United Phoenix 77-0 Alpha Conference

No, I'm sorry, but that's not true in any way, shape, or form. The level discrepancies are too great. Zeta is better than Alpha.

Level difference as indicator of being better? Bollocks. Check out about any game of the Mercenaries this season and you will see what level difference means, jack squat. Ask the Nice Dauphins what they think of level difference being what matters, and then lets talk again.

Well only thing that matters is Alpha has the best team. You all can squabble of no2. But still aplha is better.

Thats whats funny about the zeta people, they think level numbers are more important than player builds and tactics. Pretty simple thought processes over there.

How about a little bet? Everyone agrees that the conference that the championship game winners belong to are the best, no bullshit from any side, everyone just agrees on it.

Deal?

I don't know, I'd say that conference has the best team, but is not necessarily the best. The upcoming rounds of scrimmages should help determine that I'd say.

I know one thing. our 9, 10, 11 would destroy your guys everyday of the week.

I would take our:
Stuttgart Nighthawks
Aggieland Wrecking Crew
Lyon Sharks

over your
Paris Musketeers
Sandford, Gloucestershire Policeman Officers
Utopia Devil Dawgs

every time, I don't even think it's close. Now I'm not going to really chime in on the playoff teams untill the scrimmages are done. It'll be interesting to see how the loosing playoff teams compete against each other.

Same as last year, Alpha is the tougher division top to bottom. Much more evenly matched.

Zeta has some powerhouse teams that are a credit to their conference. But some very powderpuff teams.

If forced to, I would say the strategy level is higher in Alpha, but that is probably more born out of need.

Monarchs, Mercs and Vikings should not be a force in Alpha on paper, and AWC would be a top 5 team in Zeta.

The 2nd place in Alpha lost to the 2nd place in Zeta. That's pretty much the only meaningful head-to-head that the two conferences have seen this season, so far.
